It's 5AM
I look at the dark blue gray walls of my room
I hear the faint muffled sound of an infomericial on my television
I taste the dryness in my throat and make no effort to find water
I touch the blankets with my hands
I smell nothing
It's 5:01AM now
Can we go downstairs yet?

my dream winter escape is just simply being at my house, snowing outside, a couch, a blanket, hot coffee, some milk and oreos, and some nice happy christmas movies - that's all i want - no ski slopes, or crazy vacations, or whatnot - just being completely wrapped up in blankets and surrounded by things that bring me peace and comfort

Lately in the Christmas season, I've been thinking a lot about the feelings I had when I was a kid around this time of the year, rather than specific moments. I guess I can connect them with specific moments, but really in the end it's the feelings I truly remember
